Visa announced that the max allowable credit card surcharge rate, is being lowered to 3%.
However, Mastercard has NOT made any changes to their max allowable so it’s causing a little confusion out there.

However, Mastercard has NOT made any changes to their max allowable so it’s causing a little confusion out there.
As a reminder, it’s still illegal Connecticut (CT) or Massachusetts (MA), if you operate in those states, this doesn’t even apply to you.
But for everyone else, your merchant account provider should have updated you about this.
