Clover is a point-of-sale and business management system that gives you the ability to accept electronic payments, track inventory, and generate sales reports and a whole bunch more.
It exists to help you run your small business more efficiently.
We’ll take a look at the functionality, equipment and other features that come with the Clover account.
Overview of payment acceptance- Taking Payments
At it’s core, it’s a point of sale and cash register system that allows you to accept payments various ways including:
Retail, Online, Mobile, eCommerce, Online ordering, Invoicing, Payment links, Virtual terminal, Phone orders, recurring billing… AND your customers can pay with EMV chip cards, Contactless payments through NFC technology, you can accept cash and of course with a cash register drawer
With clover, there’s a software suite of products as well as hardware, so let’s take a look at hardware first.
Hardware
The hardware available are as follows:
The first is the simplest mobile option and that is Clover GO is the app based solution that is compatible with both IOS and android devices.
You just download the app and pair it to your phone via Bluetooth connection
The newest version of Clover Go card reader, gives you faster processing speeds, and a longer battery life.
accepts EMV and NFC payments.
The clover FLEX is a versatile hand-held device that can be used in tandem with the retail systems as well as a stand alone mobile device that can be 100% mobile and used in the field anywhere a signal can be received.
It has a 5 inch screen
embedded receipt printer
accepts swipe, EMV and NFC payments and can be handed to a customer to enter a pin number
Then there’s the Clover Mini which is an 8” tablet based system . it has:
The mini 3 has an 8” display,
built-in printer,
both WiFi and cellular LTE connectivity
And an optimization hub that allows for a range of compatible accessories such as a 2d barcode scanner.
Clover Station Duo This is the flagship system that you’ve likely seen out there.
has a 14-inch, high-resolution employee-facing screen
7-inch customer-facing tablet.
a merchant receipt printer and starter kit
Optional cash drawer cash drawer.
Connectivity is: via ethernet or WiFi only
Finally, Clover Station Solo is the single screen alternate to the Station DUO. This model has a

Finally, Solo does NOT support tethering of a Mini, Flex, or NFC printer
So that’s the hardware, let’s take a look at the software:
Dashboard Payments and Online reporting
With every Clover account you’ll get access to an online dashboard where you can collect payments and run your business.
The online account is where you can send invoices, add customer profiles, access the virtual terminal and run sales reports.
You can add employees with different permissions and you can also access the app marketplace.
