World of Warcraft Den Mother's Demise Quest / Moonfang Boss Darkmoon Faire Guide
When exploring the Darkmoon Fairegrounds during the Darkmoon Faire monthly event, you may see a message pop up that says "BEWARE: Moonfang Dreadhowls now prowl the woods." This will happen once enough non-elite Moonfang Snarlers are defeated in the woods surrounding the fairegrounds. There will be a few Moonfang Dreadhowls that will then spawn in the woods surrounding the Darkmoon Faire Grounds. Once all of these elite enemies are defeated, a second message warning you that the Moonfang Den Mother has spawned will pop-up on your screen. The boss-level enemy known as Moonfang can be found to the northwest of the Darkmoon Fairegrounds. This enemy has a few abilities to note: (1) Fangs of the Moon, which stuns her target for 8 seconds, (2) Leap for the Kill, which targets a player 8-40 yards away and leaps on them, causing damage to all nearby players, (3) Moonfang's Curse, which deals damage to players that remain within the white circle surrounding the enemy once the cast bar wills up, and (4) Call The Pack, which summons wolves to assist her in battle. Once this enemy is defeated, it will automatically drop Moonfang's Pelt, which begins a quest. It may also drop Moon Moon, a companion, or Moonfang's Paw or Moonfang's Shroud, both of which are Toys in the Collection. Moonfang's Pelt begins the quest "Den Mother's Demise," which sends you to the gnome Yebb Neblegear on the southern side of the Darkmoon Fairegrounds.
