Presidential Special Envoy Benny Techico denies any link between the First Couple and POGO
At a recent press conference, Benny Techico, the Presidential Special Envoy to China for Trade, Investment and Tourism, refutes claims made by Atty. Ferdinand Topacio that the First Couple has connections with Chinese investors involved in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO), based on a group photo taken at a restaurant.
Benny Techico also presents statements from the individuals identified in the photo, taken from the comment section of the post. The statements emphasize that the photo was taken in 2020 during a casual encounter with the Chinese diners who requested a picture with the group. Then-private citizen BBM was accompanied by notable personalities Chef Sandy Daza and former world shooting champion Jethro Dionisio. Techico dismisses the claims as malicious and unfounded.
