World of Warcraft Obtaining the Prime Wardenscale and Vigilance Perch Guide
The Prime Wardenscale is a Legendary Crafting Reagent used to create the Legendary Mail Gloves known as Vigilance Perch. The recipe for Vigilance Perch can be learned from Namha Moonwater in the Leatherworking shop of Dalaran. While the Nether Disruptor is active in the Broken Shore, complete the quest "Boon of the Nether Disruptor" to receive an Armorcrafter's Commendation. Note that you will only receive this item if your armorcrafting profession is at skill level 800 at the time of turning in "The Nether Disruptor" (the pre-cursor to "Boon of the Nether Disruptor"). Take your Armorcrafter's Commendation over the Eliezer Hammerbeard on the western side of Deliverance Point and speak to receive the quest "Fashion History and a Philosophy of Style." You will then need to speak with him (many times) until you can choose which Legendary piece of equipment you would like to make. In this case, choose the Vigilance Perch gloves. Eliezer Hammerbeard will then offer a quest known as "The Legend of the Wardenscale," which sends you to the southern side of the Isle of the Watchers, southwest of the Watcher’s Aerie flight path. Find the large, blue/green owl known as the Father of the Owls; use your Spirit Net underneath of this target to complete this quest. Upon turning in this quest to Eliezer Hammerbeard, you will be offered four new quests. The quest “Mail of the Ancients” will require you to obtain Ancient Gravenscales off of Humanoids found around the Broken Shore. Common areas for humanoids in this zone are the elves of the Weeping Terrace and Crescent Ruins on the northern side of the zone, the naga of the Felrage Strand in the northeastern side of the zone, and the murlocs of Stonefin Shoal to the west of Deliverance Point. You are looking for rare-quality (though they are THAT rare as drops) Ancient Gravenscale Armor, which, when used, will give you 5-9 Ancient Gravenscales each. Once you collect 100, this quest will be complete. For “The Owl and the Traitor,” you will need to defeat Cordana Felsong, the final boss of the Vault of the Wardens, on Mythic difficulty. Note that to queue for Mythic difficulties, you will need to use the Premade Groups search to find allies. Cordana Felsong will drop a useable rare-quality item known as the Chipped Felsong Mantle; use this to complete the quest. For “The Owl and the Dreadlord,” you will need to defeat Mephistroth, the final boss of the Cathedral of Eternal Night dungeon on Mythic difficulty to obtain the Rusted Legplates of Mephistroth; use this item to complete this quest. For “The Owl and the Observer,” you will need to defeat Viz’aduum, the final boss of the Return to Karazhan dungeon. Note that Mythic difficulty is not split into Upper and Lower Return to Karazhan, so make sure that your group knows that you only intend to do the upper half, or you may need to defeat all 8 bosses of this dungeon before you reach your target. To access the upper half of Karazhan, take the ramp to the south of the entrance to the Return to Karazhan dungeon on the eastern side of Karazhan in Deadwind Pass. Viz’aduum will drop an item known as the Torn Bracers of the First War; use this item to complete this quest. Turn in all 4 of these quests to start the quest “Prime Wardenscale,” which will require you to use the quest-provided Create Wardenscale skill near Celea, east of the Illidari Stand flight path in Azsuna. Turn in this quest to Eliezer Hammerbeard to receive the Prime Wardenscale crafting reagent. You will also need a Nethershard Essence, which can be purchased from Warmage Kathleen in eastern Deliverance Point in exchange for 8000 Nethershards. You will also need 65 Bloods of Sargeras and 200 Stormscales. You should now be ready to craft your legendary Mail Gloves!
