TRANSCRIPT:
I have been using pixel 2, the only phone launched with such big bezels in 2017 for over 3 months now and it feels like a major upgrade when I see the Oneplus 6 Screen
They have managed to get screen to body ratio of over 83% and well that comes at a cost of Notch! I do appreciate the smaller notch compared to iphone, but I just don't get along with it... atleast for now, I'll let you know about my opinions on Notch in the full review but one thing I can say for sure is that it makes the device look killer and eye catching.
Moving on to the back, for the first time, they have introduced a glass back on the Oneplus device and boy oh boy it looks beautiful. They have also considered the safety measures and went ahead with gorilla glass 5 but then glass is glass, it will shatter if it falls from a height. Also just like any other glass back device, oneplus 6 is also now a fingerprint and dust magnet which you'll have to get used to like I will.
Also the fingerprint scanner is now more of a rectangular shape rather then the circle and that again feels odd and would take some time for me to adjust as the Pixel 2 had proper circular fingerprint scanner but hey it still is the faster fingerprint scanner I have ever used on any smartphone.
They also changed the position of alert slider but thanks to that texture you can easily make out between the power button and the alert slider.
Talking about specifications, oneplus devices are beast and I'm sure even the oneplus hater would agree that Oneplus devices are fast as FUCK! and that holds true for oneplus 6 as well. It is packed with Snapdragon 845, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage which will handle all the task thrown at it with ease. There have been times when I have opened a application early morning and then when I get back to it at night it resumes from where I left it off.
One thing I was very sceptical about oneplus 6 was the battery life, Oneplus hasn't been working on increasing the battery capacity for their devices since the oneplus 5. Oneplus 5, 5T and 6 comes with same 3300 mAh battery but still each of them feels a bit better then the previous one. I guess this is where the Snapdragron latest chipset comes to play, like they mentioned this time, Snapdragon 845 helped them get 10% more battery efficiency and I can see the results already. I have been getting close to 6 hours of screen on time and I haven't even charged till 100 yet. The max I touched is 80!
Fun Fact! The device I'm using was charged all the way upto 100 on December 31 2017, when we were all busy celebrating the Oneplus 5T launch.
Anyway, coming to the best part of using oneplus device, the Dash charger. I know people have started complaining about no major updates in this technology since they launched it but then its already the best! I get 6 hours of screenon time with just 30 minutes of charge which is no joke also I'm the kind of person who would want to phone to get all the juice as soon as possible rather then waiting for hours like we have to do for redmi note 5 pro's battery but then that could just be me.
I haven't explored the camera a lot as I'm saving it for the dedicated camera review but I have to say it does a very good job. Also since I have the Pixel 2 and Oneplus 6, I'll keep giving you images from both devices without name for you to judge which is the best.
