Kim Beomseok, who is popularly known in west as Bom Kim, dropped out of Harvard Business School in 2010. The returned back to South Korea and founded Coupang, the startup which is now known as the Amazon of South Korea. Coupang is the biggest ecommerce app in South Korea. It even received the backing of Softbank which invested $1 Billion dollars in 2015. As of 2024, controls 25% share in the ecommerce market of South Korea which is the 5th largest ecommerce market in the world. In 2021, Coupang IPO got listed in the New York stock exchange and Coupang was valued at $109 Billion. There was a 68% drop in Coupang's shares price. But Bom Kim current stake in Coupang still makes him a Billionaire with a net worth of $2.6 Billion.
