Old Nvidia GPUs helped this Startup to a $19 Billion Success Story
Brian Venturo and Brannin McBee founded CoreWeave in 2017 to target Crypto Currency applications. They cheaply acquired GPUs from insolvent Crypto Currency mining farms and they preferred the Nvidia GPU hardware for the increased memory. As of 2024, CoreWeave provides access to Nvidia GPUs in the cloud to AI Startups. CoreWeave received backing from Nvidia. And on May 1st, they raised $1.1 billion at a valuation of $19 billion, which makes the company among the globe’s most valuable AI startups.
