Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to another edition of the Android News Byte.

While many of us within the Android community have been focused on the upcoming launch of the Pixel 9 lineup
Recent leaks have given the community a reason to feel let down by the upgrades Google has been able to make with the Tensor G4.
Rumors suggest the design team was crunched for time and that's why we won't be seeing much improvement this year.
However, that doesn't seem to be the case for Qualcomm as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset is showing about a 30% improvement when it comes to its first benchmark.

It looks as if some engineers have recently installed the Geekbench application on their test unit.
And the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC was able to achieve a single-core score of 2884
While also hitting a respectable score of 8840 in their multi-core benchmark.
For comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro was able to obtain a single-core score of 2964 and a multi-core score of 7358 with its A17 Pro chip.
I understand that this isn't an apples to apples comparison
And that Qualcomm is a year late to the party.
But it is nice to see that Qualcomm has not gotten to be complacent and is at least able to maintain its pace for a close second.

But some suspect that these will be higher before an official product is released on the market.
conclusion
Most of us understand that the Adreno GPU is where Qualcomm tends to shine, so I'm curious to see what the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip is able to score in those type of tests.
But for now, we get a look at what we can expect to see from flagship Android smartphones and tablets throughout the next 12-18 months.
