From an Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley, to a serial killer running a multiyear bombing campaign, here's the story of Ted Kaczynski also known as the "Unabomber." On May 25th, 1978, an addressed and stamped parcel was found abandoned in a parking lot inside the University of Illinois’ Chicago Circle Campus. A bystander delivered it promptly to its return address. After the recipient called campus security to report the unidentified parcel, it exploded in the security officer’s face. Between 1978 and 1995, Ted Kaczynski or the “Unabomber” sent bombs via mail to several prominent universities as well as corporate and government offices. He even tried to explode an American Airlines airplane flying between Chicago and Washington D.C. Although it would be incorrect to attribute his criminal actions solely to his troubled childhood, it is believed that his experiences during that time, along with other factors, played a key role in shaping his radical beliefs and anti-technology doctrine. Quite surprisingly, a French Professor from Stanford University tends to believe that Ted Kaczynski’s 35,000-word-long manifesto published in the Washington Post contains a lot of truth.
