Apple offers you an easy way to sync your contacts through iCloud, all you have to do is:
1. Open up settings on your iOS device.
2. Click your name.
3. Turn your contacts on.

This will sync your contacts over iCloud. iCloud offers a nice method for syncing nativeApple apps between your iPhone and Mac, but it's pretty limited outside of that.

If you're looking for a more robust option, SyncMate is the way to go. It's the all in one solution for syncing your Mac with various devices and online accounts.

Syncing the contacts between your ios device and mac is a breeze, you can connect to your phone or tablet via wifi, bluetooth, or directly with a cable. Then select which plugins you would like to sync. The free version offers contacts and calendars, but the paid expert version opens up an enormous amount of functionality. It will increase your syncing options to include calls, sms, folders, photos, safari bookmarks, and music. Depending on how you want to sync your devices, you can sync with the following methods:
Mac → iPhone
iPhone → Mac
Mac ↔ iPhone (both ways).

You can also set up automatic syncing to never have to worry about syncing again.

And for all you android users out there, SyncMate works with android devices too! It has all the great options that iOS devices have, but arguably the coolest part is that you can sync your text messages to your mac. And that isn't only for viewing, you can actually send text messages using SyncMate too. This is great because there are so few options to send and receive text messages on your mac for an android device.

Let's walk through how to set it up with an Android device, as it's a little more involved than an iPhone.
1. Click Add New in SyncMate → then click Android Device
2. You can connect via usb or if you want to use wifi or bluetooth, just download and install the SyncMate app for android using the QR code in the app.
3. Once this is installed, allow SyncMate to have access to all the files you want to sync to your Mac.
4. From there, it's the same as every other option. Select the plugins you want and get syncing!

SyncMate is also great to use with Microsoft Outlook and GMail. You have always been able to manually export your contacts from Outlook and import them to your Mac's contacts, but this is a pain to do all the time if you want to keep your contacts up to date.

With SyncMate, it's really simple to sync your contacts, all you have to do is add a new connection → select Microsoft Services → and then log into your account.

Not only is SyncMate easier to sync your contacts than the manual method, you can set up automatic syncing to make it a one time deal. Set it up and you'll never have to worry about syncing them again. This is the true power of SyncMate.
