All OnePlus phones run Android, which often makes file transfers to Macs tricky. I use MacDroid to transfer files - it supports all OnePlus models and makes the process smooth via MTP, ADB, or Wi-Fi, similar to AirDrop on iPhones.
Here’s a quick guide:
1. Open MacDroid and select Wi-Fi as your connection option.
2. On your OnePlus, go to Settings ▶️ About phone ▶️ Build Number. Tap it 7 times to unlock Developer Options.
3. In Developer Options, enable USB Debugging.
4. On your Mac, click on the Android version that matches your phone and follow the instructions on the screen.
For connecting, you have a few choices:
1. Scan a QR code for quick access.
2. Use a connection code, or
3. Manually enter an IP address and port.
I prefer the QR code because it’s straightforward and reliable.
MacDroid treats connected devices like an external drive in Finder, allowing easy file management and editing right on the drive.
