0:00 - Inset Spacing

With a text box selected, the Text Frame Options dialog box can be opened in many ways including...
Right Mouse clicking and choosing from the menu
The Options button within the Text Frame section of the Properties panel
The Object menu

To see a live preview of any changes, ensure that the Preview checkbox is on.

The Inset Spacing section controls the text box padding. Activating the chain link icon allows for the simultaneous changing of Top, Bottom, Left and Right. The larger the number, the larger the gap between the text and the text frame edge on that side.

1:30 - Auto-Size Text Box
Introducing padding to a text box can often create Overset Text which is when a text box is not large enough to display all of the text that it contains. While the text box can be easily manually resized, there are automatic options to assist in this area.

Within the Text Frame Options dialog box is an Auto-Size section.

The Auto-Sizing options are...
Off
Height Only
Width Only
Height and Width
Height and Width (Keep Proportions)

The 9 square grid allows for the setting of the anchor point about which the auto-sizing will occur.
