In photography then a HDR ( High Dynamic Range ) photograph is made from many different exposures of the same subject.

After watching this video you should then have a better understanding of how HDR software such as photoshop or photomatix does take the highlights, mid-tones and shadows from the different exposures it is that you have taken of the same subject in order to produce a breathtaking final HDR image.

When shooting your different exposures for HDR then use a good quality tripod an make sure that you shoot the different exposures on your cameras RAW file setting as this contains the correct information needed by the photographic software in order to transform your different exposures into a true HDR image / photograph.
