Condenser cover of Love Battery by Buzzcocks from their 1978 album 'Another Music in a Different Kitchen'. This was about 1:15 into our 90-minute set at Moon Bar in NZ on 17th Aug. that began with all 21 songs in order from Wire's 1977 album 'Pink Flag' - a tribute to a classic of the era.
Condenser is a punk/post-punk band playing covers from mid 70s-early 80s and some originals from much earlier incarnations of the band (1980-84).

DrumFuckery 303 Notes:
I played a Filtersphere gig on the White Ghost kit on the Friday night - • DF no.302, Filtersphere 6 at Common G... - then with Condenser on the Saturday. The contrast is pretty extreme. I don't play that many gigs so this was a big weekend for me.
John Maher's drumming with Buzzcocks was an early influence on me and I try to bring it to this song, which I always enjoy playing. It gives me a lift.
The kit is my old 1980s Pearl DLX, minus its 13" tom. I'd cut it to a 4-pc for the Wire set we performed, and the rear of the stage at Moon is too narrow for a 5-pc anyway. Snare is the 6" steel Pro that came with the DLX, with an Evans Genera Dry on top.
The 80s Zildjian 13" New Beat hats were chosen for the Wire sound, and the 14" and 16" thin crashes (80s/70s vintage respectively) really cut through to provide accents and then decay out of the way. The ride is a vintage 22" Zildjian.
