0:43 - Create Stack From Single Object
An instance of the Array Modifier is required for each dimension the object is to be duplicated in. To create a 3D stack of objects, 3 instances of the Array modifier are required for X, Y and Z. Spacing between elements is controlled with the Relative Offset value and Count controls the number of copies.

3:45 - Split Into Individual Objects.
Modifiers are live effects. Thus while it may look like there are a series of objects on screen, Blender still really only "sees" the original base object. To individually manipulate these objects first Apply each modifier. Next, select the object and go into Edit mode. From the Mesh menu select Separate and then By Loose Parts.

5:54 - Correcting Offset Origins
This entire process results in a series of stand alone objects with origins that match that of the original object. To reset the origins, first select all of the objects. Then, from the Object menu, choose Set Origin and then Origin to Geometry.
