The old town of Hvar is on the island of Hvar and it features a beautiful harbor with luxury yachts, and if you go up the hill to explore the fortress, you will get stunning views of the town and harbor. Hvar is also know for producing lace and lavender. I was fortunate to have had Goran as my private guide, and he tells us about the history of Hvar and the fortress, talks about the nuns making lace at the Benedictine Convent, and brings us to St. Stephen's Square and cathedral. After that, we visit the historic Hvar Theatre, see the yachts in the harbor from the Adriana Hotel, and we hear from one of Goran's friends, Carmen, as she explains how she and her husband cultivate and produce lavender and olive oil.
