The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam features the largest collection of artwork by Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) in the world. There are 200 paintings, 500 drawings, and 750 letters in the museum, which attracts more than 2 million visitors a year, making it one of the top attractions in Amsterdam, and one of the Top 30 museums in the world. Van Gogh lived in poverty his whole life, but with the financial and emotional support from his brother, Theo, Van Gogh continued to paint and after his death, went on to be known as one of the greatest artists in history. In this video, I will give you the story behind many of the masterpieces from Van Gogh, as well as discussing the man himself. While he is known for cutting off his ear, and for taking his own life, Vincent van Gogh was an artist who never gave up despite the obstacles he faced. His artistic works will live on forever.
