The Phi Phi Islands (Ko Phi Phi) in Thailand feature stunning natural beauty, with towering limestone rock formations and emerald green waters. On this day trip from Phuket, we took about an hour boat ride to Viking Cave, which was named after the ancient murals on the walls depicting Viking-type ships; we then visited the beautiful emerald green waters of Pileh Lagoon, where you can take a longtail boat ride, go swimming, or just stay on the boat; from there, we went to what I consider the highlight of the trip: Maya Bay, which was featured in the 2000 movie The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. After years of reef destruction, the bay today is pristine and the scenery is simply amazing; From Maya Bay we went snorkeling and while it wasn't a great snorkeling spot, I did see a beautiful pink jellyfish and a sea snake; it was then time for a quick visit to a lagoon with monkeys, then lunch at Phi Phi Don Island, and our last stop were the beautiful beaches of Bamboo Island.
