===== About this Video =====
Changing fonts is easy with the right tools. The Google Fonts Typography plugin will handle all of the technical aspects for you and provides a simple interface using the Live Customizer.
To change your font, the first thing you need to do is install the Google Fonts Typography plugin. This is easily done from the Plugins menu in your WP admin dashboard.
With the plugin installed, you’ll find a new Google Fonts section added to the Customizer. Inside the Basic Settings is where you’ll do most of your customizing. There is a Base Typography setting which will set the font instantly across your entire website. While it may work for all of the text on your site, you may need to use the Headings and Buttons & Inputs settings too.
While that’s all the control you might need, you can get more detailed in the Advanced Settings. There are controls to change the font of your site title, tagline, and more.
To find the best font for your site, visit the Google Fonts website and use the font evaluation tools they have there. If you want some recommendations, stick to the fonts on the homepage. You can’t go wrong with fonts like Roboto, Open Sans, and Lato. For more stylish options, look for handwriting fonts in particular. Once you know the name of the font you’d like to use, all you need to do is type it into a setting added by Google Fonts Typography.
Since adding new Google Fonts to your site can slow it down, but it’s best to use three fonts at the very most. That said, using just one or two fonts is preferable. The Pro version of the Google Fonts Typography plugin includes a Font Loading feature which can also help your site load faster when using custom fonts.
