Boss has been leading the industry in high-quality digital reverbs for over 25 years, and the RV-500 is the final chapter in the book on reverb. Utilizing a supercharged DSP platform featuring 32-bit processing and an all-analog signal path, Boss gives you 12 reverb patches with up to 12 control parameters for each. Boss has taken its sound design to the next level, crafting superb algorithms that contain all the classics such as Spring, Plate, Room and Hall, adding future classics such as Fast Decay, Early Reflection and Nonlinear, along with a couple unexpected classics from Roland’s back catalog: the SRV2000 rack reverb and RE-201 Space Echo. A handy Simultaneous mode even lets you use two patches at once. Thanks to the RV-500’s large editing screen, the programming couldn’t be easier, with a host of global controls available right at your fingertips, and all of the menus in plain sight. The free RV-500 Editor/Librarian software helps you edit and organize all 297 patches and easily send them . The versatile control port lets you connect any number of control devices, including an expression pedal to give you hands-free control, or an external footswitch to which you can assign different functions. The rear panel of the RV-500 offers a playground for control junkies, including full MIDI functionality and USB synchronization to your DAW, so that the RV-500 can ride sidesaddle at your studio’s mixing desk. And just like all Boss’s pedals, the RV-500 is stoutly built to endure years on the road and stage.
