In this video, I show you how to enable XMP or DOCP for you RAM in your BIOS settings. This is one of the first steps to do when setting up your gaming PC. For a full checklist, visit Tech Audit TV's full video below:

Every motherboard might have differences in how to enable XMP/DOCP but the process is very similar. You'll want to navigate to your overclock settings and find XMP or DOCP. My tutorial is using an MSI motherboard but similar settings will be found on Aorus, Asus, and other motherboards.

First, you'll want to boot up your computer or restart your computer and repeatedly press the delete or F2 button until your BIOS appears. In your BIOS you should see your DRAM Frequency or your DDR Speed. This will show you what your current MHz speed is at.

Every DRAM stick will come with a default megahertz setting. My default setting is 2133 MHz speeds. Now I'll want to navigate to my advanced settings, overclock settings and locate my XMP settings. I'll want to enable my XMP or DOCP which puts my RAM into Profile 1 which allows it to reach it's full 3200 MHz speeds.

Once you have your XMP or DOCP enabled, you can save and exit your BIOS and you'll have the best speeds your DRAM can obtain. If you want to double check, go back into your BIOS and see what your current DRAM MHz are running.

Now you're all set. Be sure to drop any additional steps for other motherboards in the comments below.
