In this video we look at a sample drawn from a standard normal distribution (mean of zero and standard deviation of one). We use Mathematica's Histogram method to view the sample's distribution. The default version calculate the frequency (number of occurrences) of the data falling in a "bin" (range of values). One argument of the Histogram method provides control over the bin -- their number and/or their width. Another argument control whether the histogram columns correspond to frequencies, probabilities, or a PDF (Probability Density Function). The last version is shown to have the most independence of the sample size and the bin width -- making it the version best suited for comparison to mathematical functions from probability theory.
