Learn how to add names, graphics, or logos to your video productions for corporate events, sports, presentations and more using Roland video switchers’ DSK (downstream key) function. Video effects, layers, and graphics add polish and excitement to your production. Using composition layers, you’ll keep your audience engaged with visually appealing content. While Nico Suárez’s demonstration uses the Roland V-8HD video switcher, the process shown can be implemented using any Roland video mixer with DSK.
In order to create graphics, you’ll need a computer and software like PowerPoint or Keynote. Connect your computer to one of the HDMI inputs in your mixer. Then, choose the DSK function in the menu and assign the HDMI source connected to your computer. Next choose the color you want to become transparent in your graphic. The Level knob allows you to adjust the level of transparency, so you can remove the right amount of background color. Using Gain knob, you can adjust the sharpness of the edge of the image remaining.
