Another cookie from the classic Swedish baking book Sju Sorters Kakor. Ngl these cookies were so irritating. The flavor was there but the shaping was NOT. Let me know if you have better luck with them!
Cognac Wreaths (på svenska nedanför)
Ingredients:
5 dL (300g) wheat flour
200g salted butter*
1 dL (90g) sugar
2 tbsp cognac
Mix the flour, butter, and sugar together then add the cognac and knead until smooth. Chill the dough for a little while (I did 5 minutes). Divide the dough into pieces and roll them into thin ropes. Twist two ropes together, cut them into 12 cm long pieces, and form each piece into a wreath. (This is where things went south for me. I ended up doing 15g pieces rolled into ropes and twisted into pretzels). Place the wreaths (or pretzels) on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 200C/400F for about 10 minutes.
*I used 1/2 tsp salt to compensate for unsalted butter but honestly you could throw in a whole teaspoon. I think that would’ve helped them a lot. Also some vanilla sugar/extract would’ve been good too.

Ska jag vara ärlig så var dessa kakor riktigt irriterande att göra. Smaken satt, men formningen gjorde det INTE. Hör av dig om du har bättre lycka med dem!
Konjakskransar
Ingredienser:
5 dl (300g) vetemjöl
200g saltat smör*
1 dl (90g) socker
2 msk konjak
Blanda mjöl, smör och socker, tillsätt sedan konjaken och knåda till en smidig deg. Kyl degen en stund (jag gjorde det i 5 minuter). Dela degen i bitar och rulla ut dem till tunna längder. Sno två längder tillsammans, skär dem i 12 cm långa bitar, och forma dem till kransar. (Här gick det snett för mig. Jag gjorde istället 15g bitar, rullade dem till längder och snodde dem till kringlor). Lägg kransarna (eller kringlorna) på en plåt med bakplåtspapper. Grädda i 200°C i cirka 10 minuter.
*Jag använde ½ tsk salt för att kompensera för osaltat smör men ärligt talat kan du slänga i en hel tesked. Jag tror det skulle ha gjort stor skillnad. Lite vaniljsocker/extrakt hade också varit gott.
