These sponges absorb water, stay wet for a long time and do not dry out, because you wash the dishes several times a day. Almost immediately, after the start of use, they lose their appearance and become shabby and flattened.
I mostly wash dishes with terry cloths. Or I take disposable ones that are sold in rolls.
For more stubborn dirt, a metal sponge is suitable.
Recently I remembered how my mother washed dishes with tulle rags. She folded several layers into a small square and stitched them with threads. And instead of a scraper, there was a bent square of a mosquito net, in those days it was metal, there were no plastic ones.
How to do:
1) I took a small piece of old nylon tulle, which is in a small square, and cut out a strip of 15 x 80 cm.
2) I collected it with my hands into an accordion.
3) I prepared a small piece of elastic and tied it into a knot.
4) I made a loop and tightened the tulle. It turned out to be a small flower.
By the way, you can make a washcloth for the body just like that.
5) The new sponge perfectly washes dishes, easily washes off adhering dirt. Mugs with a tea coating launders with a bang.
