Exotic Quest - Ruinous Effigy (Trace Rifle) (No Commentary) | Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals (PS4)
Yesterday, the exotic quest for the Ruinous Effigy released alongside the first half of the Traveler's Chosen exotic quest. The Ruinous Effigy is the Trace Rifle that allows us to finally destroy the Savathun Eyes that we've seen plastered all over the sandbox. The quest itself is only 3 steps long, but each step requires some time investment.
This video is NOT an in-depth guide on how to get the Ruinous Effigy. Rather, it is a brief presentation of the quest steps with a basic demonstration of how each step works.
Quest Steps
1. Visit the Prismatic Recaster in the Tower Annex.
2. Complete the weekly "Interference" mission and retrieve the "Gift".
3. Collect 25 Calcified Light fragments and defeat 15 of Savathun's Marionettes.
4. Get Void kills, precision multikills, and complete Gambit matches or Reckoning encounters.
5. Return to the Umbral Decoder and obtain the Ruinous Effigy.
Calcified Light Fragments
There are exactly 25 of these to collect on Mercury, Mars, Io, and Titan. Ghost can detect these in Nav Mode from 200m away. They only appear in the main patrol areas. There are 5 on Mercury, 5 on Mars, 5 on Titan, and 10 on Io.
Savathun's Marionettes
These special enemies appear during the "Contact" public event or randomly on Io and Titan's patrol zones. The fastest way to defeat 15 Marionettes is to go to the Rupture on Io and wait for them to spawn in.
