How does the New York City Fire Department respond to fires? Firemen and fire fighters get the call, hop into their fire trucks, and spring into action. This educational fire safety film produced under Mayor Robert Wagner (1954-1965) gives an overview of the chain of command, and how the fire department responded to fires at that time. The film also warns of the dangers and crime of a false false alarm: the fire fighters can't be where a real fire is burning, so it puts people in even more danger.
