Chrysler Town and Country (1998)
Chrysler definitely scored a monumental sales hit when it introduced the first minivans to the United States market in 1983. Chrysler, even 30 years later, continues to be one of the leading automobile manufacturers when it comes to the minivan, according to Edmonds.com and most car enthusiasts.
The Town and Country was produced by Chrysler from 1990 until 2016, and went through a number of generations during that time. The third generation Town and Country won over 10 awards in 1998, including a 5-star safety rating for the driver and a 4-star rating for the front passenger from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Folksam, one of the largest insurance companies in Sweden, published a report in 2009 stating that the 1996-2000 generation received a real-world rating of "safest," which means at least 30% safer than the average car.
