Rector's Palace (Knežev Dvor) in Old Town Dubrovnik, is the Museum of Dubrovnik today, but it was the seat of power for the Rector of the Republic of Ragusa from the 14th to early 19th century. The Rector was an elected official who governed Dubrovnik, but he had no actual power and only ruled for one month, and was not allowed to leave the palace without permission of the Senate! Inside the museum we will see artwork, iron chests, sedan chairs, furniture, clocks, and more from the 15th to 19th centuries.
