Streamlabs OBS Beginner's Tutorial for Streaming & Recording [Under 7 Minutes]
In this video, I cover a Streamlabs OBS Tutorial for beginner's and show you the steps for setting up Streamlabs OBS and first settings, scenes, and sources you need to start streaming or recording.
First, you download Streamlabs OBS from a browser.
Once you've downloaded Streamlabs and open the application, log in or link it to a streaming account. Either Twitch, YouTube or Facebook.
Once you're in the main canvas area, you'll want to create a new Scene for your to add sources. After creating a new scene in the Streamlabs OBS canvas, you'll need to add sources by clicking the + icon. In the sources, you'll need to add a display capture, audio input capture (if you're using a microphone for your voice), and then a video capture device if you're using a webcam to capture video.
Those 3 sources in Streamlabs will allow you to record or stream whatever is on your display, with your audio and video devices.
After your sources are set up, you'll want to optimize your settings for OBS. Click into settings and make sure you're linked to a streaming service. Then for your output settings, make sure your video bitrate is either 6000 or potentially lower if your upload mbps speed is slow. If you're below 10mbps upload speed, then I recommend dropping that bitrate down to 4000.
Next, ensure your encoder is set to Hardware (NVENV) (new) and then for your recording settings, you'll want the same encoder settings and change the recording quality to Medium or Large. Change the recording format to MP4 since it is the most accepted video format.
In your Video setting, make sure the base resolution is the size of your monitor. Most likely it'll be 1920x1080. You could have higher or lower, so double check. Change the downscale filter to Lanczos (Sharpened scaling, 32 samples) and change he FPS values to 60 if your device can handle it. If not, then lower to 30 FPS.
