Without It, No Contract: What Clients Look for but Designers Don't Do?

In today's video, I'm going to talk about something crucial for all designers: the portfolio. I know we have a love-hate relationship with it, but having a portfolio is essential. If you don't have one or are a beginner and don't know where to start, this video is for you.

First, understand that a designer without a portfolio is not a designer. It may sound dramatic, but it's true. Your portfolio is your showcase, a way to display your skills, even if you work in research. Having a portfolio is vital for people to know what you do.

There are various options to create your portfolio, such as Behance, Wix, and free websites. I recommend Behance for its ease of use and the engaged community. Don't worry about having a website with your own domain; that can come later. The important thing is not to create barriers. I've recruited beginners with portfolios on Behance myself, and what matters is the work.

The crucial part is valuing your projects. Invest time in showcasing your work because you've put in the effort to create it. Remember that your portfolio is your showcase, and a disorganized or empty showcase won't attract anyone.

If you're a beginner and think you don't have projects to include, don't worry. In the past, I started by taking my college projects and improving them. Today, the internet offers many resources, like free tutorials on YouTube, to create your projects and build your portfolio.

Remember that your portfolio can be the first selection criterion in recruitment processes. Sometimes, HR reviews the portfolio first, so it's crucial that it's solid and well-presented. Don't underestimate its importance.

Stay tuned because I'm preparing a course that will help you create your portfolio from scratch, including interface design and how to present it on Behance. If you're a beginner or want to enhance your portfolio, this course could be a great opportunity for you. Be sure to like and interact with the video to help me create more useful content. Remember, a designer without a showcase has a harder time standing out in the market. Until next time!

Who am I:
Flavio Cordeiro, an enthusiastic designer with over 9 years of professional experience.
I've worked in advertising agencies, design studios, and marketing departments. I've led design teams in a global American company and worked on projects for international clients.
I've had the opportunity to work in various design fields. Photoshop is my favorite tool.
Currently, I'm transitioning into UI/UX design, but I also study the world of 3D. In the end, I try to combine everything to create a solution.

Channel's Objective:

After many "how do you do that?" questions, I thought I could be useful to beginners in the design, advertising, social media, interface design, and the entire creative world. Those looking for tutorials and tips to improve their workflow, edit images professionally, add 3D elements to their designs, etc.

My professional experience has led me to develop effective ways to solve creative problems. FLAMB design was born from everything I've learned, and I'd like to share it with you.

I hope my creative solutions are helpful in your professional life or in boosting your creativity.
