Lesser Grain Borer is the most important insect of stored wheat. It may damage stored wheat upto forty percent in severe cases. The testa of wheat grain remains very hard during may and June and this insect can not damage wheat crop during this period. However, grains of wheat absorb moisture during monsoon and they become relatively soft and grain borer (Susri) can damage it easily. We have suggested not to use Alluminum Phosphide tablets during May and June but in July these must be applied @ 1 tablet per 100kg of Wheat.
