This tutorial demonstrates the use of a PD controller (from the built-in PID tool in Comsol) to stabilize the levitation of a charged object, which is inherently unstable. This is an application using a feedback control loop and a moving mesh. The output of the controller is used as the input voltage that creates the required electric field.
Instead of using the solid mechanics interface, the displacement of the sphere is calculated using 'global equations'.
