Austria, A Landlocked Country, Situated In Central Europe. Covering Approximately 83,883 Square Kilometers In Total Surface Area, Austria Is The 20th Largest Country In Europe.

Austria Is One Of The 14 Landlocked Countries In Europe And Has No Access To An Ocean Or Sea.
Austria Is Predominantly A Mountainous Country, The Alps Mountain Range Covers More Than 60 % Of The Total Surface Area Of The Country. The Country's Average Elevation Is Roughly 910 Meters And Only 32% Of The Country's Elevation Is Below 500 Metres.
Austria Is Divided Into Nine Provinces. Lower Austria Is The Largest Province By Area, While Vienna, The Capital City Of The Country And Itself A Province, Is The Smallest Province Of The Country. The Country Has A Total Population Of Approximately 9 Million. Vienna, The Capital City, Is The Most Populous City With A Total Of 2.9 Million Inhabitants Living Within Its Metropolitan Area. It Is The Only City In Austria With Population Exceeding 1 Million. Other Major Cities Include Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck And Klagenfurt.
