The Sea Has An Average Depth Of About 859 Metres And Maximum Depth Of Roughly 3,372 Metres. The Sea Is Named After The Portcity Of Okhotsk, Which Itself Is Named For The Okhota River, Which Empties Into The Sea Of Okhotsk.
