In the modern world, there are a huge number of mops that make the cleaning process easier. Spin mops, with microfiber attachments, spinner mops that rotate 360 degrees and others.
Models are convenient in which you don’t have to get your hands wet; all this is done by a special mechanism, which varies depending on the model.
And there were times when, without any frills, they washed floors with wooden mops and a simple rag. But time rushes forward and offers more modern options.
There are models that eventually cease to perform their functions, but are quite suitable for further use. For example, a mop with Velcro, over time they stop attaching the nozzle to themselves. The nozzle can also tear and wear out over time.
You can replace it and sew a new one from a terry towel or knitwear.
Let's get started:
1) For my mop I took an old T-shirt.
2) I traced the base and cut out 2 identical parts.
3) From the rest of the fabric, I cut strips 4 cm wide. Each strip was folded in half and stitched to one main part. These stripes overlap each other.
4) Then I cut along the fold line and made a fringe on each strip.
5) I folded the last strip and pinned it together.
6) I attached a wide elastic band on both edges.
7) Connected both parts of the base and stitched in a circle, leaving room for turning.
8) I turned the nozzle inside out and stitched along the contour.
9) I cut the last strip into fringe. Now the Velcro does not matter, the nozzle is tightly attached to the elastic bands.
I also made my own dust broom to clean the furniture. I believe that every housewife should have this device.
I will show you how easy it is to make such a broom in 10–15 minutes using available materials.
You will need a thin stick and pieces of fleece. I cut out rectangles of different lengths and widths from fleece. The fabric is rounded at the top.
I put a stick to the center, circled it and stitched along the drawn line. I cut a fringe along the edges, 1 cm wide. I put the whisk on a stick and fluffed it up.
