Quality of the filter

The filter itself it pretty sturdy, and won’t easily become bent out of shape as long as you don’t put high amounts of pressure on it- like by sitting on it. The holes are very miniscule and prevent most of the coffee grounds from being passed into the drink. But you will encounter a small amount of sediment at the bottom of your cup. But this tradeoff is worth a better tasting cup of coffee.
Note that the holes are smaller on the printed side when compared to the other side- this is why you should place the filter in the aeropress with the printed side up.

Quality of the coffee

So because the steel filter uses larger holes than a paper filter, it allows more of the coffee oils to pass through, therefore making a fuller bodied cup of coffee when used with the aeropress. This steel filter is reusable, meaning that you don’t have to waste money continuously buying paper filters. And on a similar vein, using a steel filter is better for traveling than paper filters
One question that arises is how coffee made with a stainless steel filter differs in quality compared to paper filter. In my experience, it really comes down to the freshness of the coffee beans. If the coffee beans or grounds are stale, then a paper filter is better at reducing the rancid taste of the coffee. But if the coffee beans are freshly roasted, than the steel filter allows you to experience a better taste of the coffee.
With a steel filter the coffee’s flavors are amplified, because more of the coffee is actually let into the actual drink- meaning the oils get through as well as other components that may normally be blocked by a paper filter.
And overall, I personally quite like this metal filter for improving my coffee drinking experience. For the medium-dark roast coffee that I made, I found the taste to be quite richer, bolder, and sharper in flavor. I highly recommend it for those who care about how their coffee tastes.
