In this video you will learn about computer Network, History of Computer Network and features of Computer Network in Hindi.
Network means A group or system of interconnected things.
A computer network is defined as a system
that connects two or more computing devices for transmitting and
sharing information.
In general, Computer Network is a collection of two or more
computers.
Computers are connected to each other either by a wire medium or by wireless medium. Wire medium uses twisted pair cables, co-axial cables, Ethernet cable, fibre optical cables for connecting computers, while wireless medium uses Microwave, Radio waves, Bluetooth, infrared, Satellite for connecting computers.
History of Computer Network:- Computer Network was discovered between 1960 and 1970. ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) became the first connected computer network. ARPANET was developed by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), a subset of the US Department of Defence. In the beginning, the first computer network was created by connecting four host computers of four main universities of America. This network was not for personal communication, but it was for communication between the army and the organisation. In the year 1972, 32 main computers were connected through ARPANET. ARPANET went international in 1973 with satellite links linking the University College of London in England and the Royal Radar Establishment in Norway to US universities. By 1980, there were a total of 213 nodes in the ARPANET system. Over the next few years, ARPANET grew rapidly and began to be connected to other networks. Bob Kahn invented the TCP/IP protocol for networks and developed it, with help from Vint Cerf, in 1978. Gradually more development took place and today it has become the largest network in the world, which we know by the name of Internet.
Need of Computer Network:-
1. To Share Computer Files:-To sharing of files and data is the most vital feature of a computer network. Networks allow for the sharing of data and information, whether between users in the same organisation or between different organisations. When there was no computer network, the floppy disk was physically carried to move files from one computer to another, and the data was transferred to another computer.
2.To share Hardware Devices:-Users can share hardware devices such as printers, scanners, CD-ROM drives, hard drives etc. Without computer networks, device sharing is not possible. So, in this way a printer can be shared by multiple users in a networking environment. Printers and large hard-disk drives for individual computers can be expensive.
3.Application Sharing:-Applications can be shared over the network, and this allows to implement client/server applications. We can share applications on the network means we can access applications remotley through a network.
4.Communication :- Networks provide a way for individuals and groups to communicate and collaborate with each other, whether through email, instant messaging, video conferencing, or other means.
5.Resource Sharing:-Networks enable multiple users to share resources such as printers, data storage devices, and other hardware and software resources. This can help to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and improve productivity.
6.Gaming:- Network also help to play games with other people.A lot of network games are available, which allow multi-users to play from different locations.
7.Access information:-Networks enable access to a diverse set of services and information, such as the internet, database servers, and cloud-based services for computing. Computer networks provide access to the internet..
8. E-Commerce:- E-Commerce stands for Electronic commerce. Computer networks provide access to the internet. We can sell products and services online through the Internet to any corner of the world and can buy online 24X7 from anywhere in the world.
9.Entertainment: Millions of people use computer network or internet for entertainment. Computer networks, especially the internet, offer various sources of entertainment, ranging from computer games to streaming music and videos.
10.Voice over IP:- It is also known as VOIP. It is a protocol used for telecommunications.Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that allows you to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular phone line.
11.To reduce the cost of data transfer : If you share data and files using
computer network, then it costs very little. It is cheaper than other
methods.online through the Internet to any corner of the world and can buy online 24X7 from anywhere in the world.
