EP 43 The Pit of Despair, The Curse of the Runelords (Pathfinder 1E Actual Play)
The Heroes of Sandpoint, using the knowledge gained from the two Black Arrows and Ratatouille's magical recon, stealthily entered Fort Rannick via the secret cave behind the waterfall. They used the distance and the cover of night to remain unseen by the ogres and once inside, waited until the sun was newly risen.
They used a secret door to steal out into the fort and bind the doors of the barracks while placing flammables beneath the 'death trap' of a building. Jarkardos explained that was why the Black Arrows no longer used it. With everyone back inside, the ignited the flammables and moved quickly through the long tunnel, using Bitterbark smudges and a bit of magic to herd the shocker lizards from their path. They then entered another secret door and much to their surprise they found Lucretia lounging on some cushions and attempting to look non-plussed by their arrival.
Rata summoned a pit and the Weird Sister fell into the acid, failing multiple times to teleport herself out. Alexis and Sushi dove in after her as Rata disrupted yet another attempt to cast a teleportation spell. Alexis and Sushi pressed her as she reverted to knives and wounded Alexis badly, but in the end the heroes prevailed. They gathered a list of Turtleback Ferry and Black Arrow rangers who had unwittingly surrendered themselves to the Sihedron Ritual, as well as another Sihedron Medallion.
While their spells were fresh, they moved quickly to the first floor and a major battle took place in the halls of Fort Rannick, while numerous ogres gathered outside the keep trying to deal with the fire that had killed a dozen of their ogre troops.
