The PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute - Agile Certified Practitioner) is a certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) for professionals who have experience working on agile projects. This certification is designed to recognize an individual's understanding of agile principles, practices, and tools and has become increasingly popular in recent years.
To become certified as a PMI-ACP, candidates must have 1,500 hours of experience working on agile projects and pass an exam. This certification is valid for three years and requires 30 hours of continuing education.
As a certification, it is not without its criticisms as well. Ryan prepared for and took the PMI-ACP a number of years ago. He liked the preparation process and found it to be a good general overview and introduction to agility. Still, he had mixed feelings about the assessment itself and the proctoring requirement. He never saw much market demand for the PMI-ACP certification and let it lapse.
