Once again, Kohli performed brilliantly. If India goes on to win the World Cup 2022, it would only be because of Virat Kohli’s consistently brilliant batting. He’s had an amazing comeback after a rough patch, and cricket fans couldn’t be happier! Without him, the Indian team may not have defeated Pakistan, or put up a winning total against Bangladesh and would have lost in the race to qualify by now. But India owes its success to Kohli 🏏
Bangladesh demonstrated a great fight against India. However, it's been a similar plot when Team Bangladesh plays against Team India. They are almost there, we are on the edge of our seats, but they don't get to the finish line. Litton Das played a brilliant knock until he was run out by KL Rahul’s excellent direct hit. Some argue that the rain broke the Bangladeshi batsmen’s momentum and that the wet outfield was a disadvantage, however, it also looked like all batsmen were going for big hits even though the required rate was around 9. As a result, a lot of wickets fell in a very short span of time! Arshdeep Singh’s over at the end and the team effort in the field took Rohit Sharma-led India across the line.
The concern is, India's victory over Bangladesh has further lowered Pakistan's chances of qualifying for the T20i World Cup 2022 semi-finals. But, it isn't all over yet! Picture abhi baaki hai mere doston. We still have two matches to play in the tournament, and if a few other results go in our favour, we can still make it!
Babar Azam may have had a rough patch, but such upsets are part of a cricketer’s journey. Let’s not forget he is a world-class batsman and it can’t take away from his performance over the years. He isn’t called King Babar for nothing! Just like we all prayed for Virat Kohli’s form, we hope and pray that our captain bounces back very soon.
