Mr. America & Mr. USA Meet The Addams Family in 1977 - Happy Halloween
Dave Johns and Clinton Beyerle competed in the 1977 AAU Mr. America contest - Dave won the Medium Class and Overall, while Clint, who won the overall AAU Mr. USA in 1975, placed 2nd in the Tall Class - then both were remarkably cast in this 1977 Addams Family Halloween TV Special. The original The Addams Family TV show ran from 1964 to 1966 - most of the original cast returned for this special (check out my non-bodybuilding channel for clips featuring the late Lisa Loring (Wednesday) and the late Ken Weatherwax (Pugsley)). Dave Johns turned pro and competed in a few IFBB shows in the 1980s, then passed away at the age of 41 from a rare respiratory disease. Clint quit the stage to start his chiropractic practice and looks like he's still around today. As far as The Addams Family is concerned, I think the only surviving original cast member is Gomez - John Astin - who is 93 years old! Hope all is well John! And you too Clinton!
