Steward Healthcare Files For Bankruptcy, Spirit Airlines Reports Big Loss
Hospital Operator Steward Healthcare has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection this morning after months of speculation that the company was insolvent. Unpaid vendors, overdue rent, and deteriorating conditions at Steward Hospital have been making international news since the start of the year. Elsewhere Spirit Airlines posted a larger than expected loss, blaming bad weather and air traffic control issues for the poor results.
