Three years before composer Thomas Newman gave us his seminal 'American Beauty' score, he was already developing his own particular style in scenes like this. As he continues to pile up Oscar nominations (but sadly, to date, no wins), this mix of interesting instrumentation and wonderful rhythms continues to be his forte.
Starring John Travolta, Robert Duvall, Kyra Sedgwick and Forest Whitaker, and directed by Jon Turteltaub.
