Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata Mov. 1 - Extra dark / creepy / sad version | Detuned piano
Hiya! Here is the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, Op. 27 No. 2, also called the Moonlight Sonata, but combined with a very edited piano sound, rain sounds, and occasional music box and organ to make it darker / creepier / sadder. I hope you enjoy!
This sonata is one of Beethoven's most famous pieces, and this first movement is played very often by students, since the difficulty level isn't too high. Even though the rythmic pattern is quite repetitive, the harmony so very well composed that it's still full of surprises.
I used a keyboard to record the MIDI into my PC, and then I used a basic piano VST (The Grandeur by NI) to get a nice piano sound, but I used a ton of filters and editing on the piano sound to give it that darker, more detuned sound.
I was inspired by myuuji to make this. I love his dark piano music so much, and at least once a week I fall asleep to a playlist of it hehe. I did my best to achieve the detuned sound he has in a lot of his videos. I also did my best to incorporate other instruments, but that they don't take the focus away from the piano. That the other instruments are just filling colours, and that it's still mainly piano solo. I hope I achieved my goals!

Some ideas (first two melody parts of music box) taken from Japanese band "AMADEUS" version of this piece called 月光 / Gekko. But in their song the soprano sung that extra melody. The other melodies were my ideas.
