Microsoft Excel Tutorial: How to Highlight the Lowest Value in Each Row | Excel Tips & Tricks.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, where we bring you the best tips and tricks for using Excel. In this episode, we'll be tackling a question that was sent in by one of our viewers - how to highlight the lowest value in each row. This can be a useful tool when working with large sets of data, and we're here to show you how to do it.

First, we need to pay attention to which cell is the active cell. This is important because we will be using a formula that will be applied to all the cells in the selection. So, make sure the active cell is the first cell in the row that you want to highlight the lowest value for.

Next, we'll go into Conditional Formatting and create a New Rule. This rule will be based on a formula, so we'll need to write a formula that works for the active cell, but also uses relative and absolute references so that it can be applied to all the cells in the selection. We'll use the MIN function to find the lowest value in the row, and make sure to lock down the columns using the $ symbol.

Once the formula is set up, we can choose a fill color for the cells that contain the lowest value. This will make it easy to identify the lowest value in each row. And just like that, we have successfully highlighted the lowest value in each row using conditional formatting.

This trick can also be applied to highlight the lowest value in each column. Just make sure to pay attention to the active cell and adjust the formula accordingly. We hope this tip will come in handy for your future Excel projects. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more helpful Excel tips and tricks.
