A lot of people seem to believe that intermittent fasting causes fat loss in and of itself, but that's not the case. The only reason a person end up losing body fat is because he or she is in a calorie deficit.
Now intermittent fasting can make you end up in a calorie deficit simply by you eating less during your days by skipping breakfast and possible lunch. All those breakfast and lunch calories become buffered into a smaller eating window, making it harder to overeat and hence that you end up in a calorie deficit.
So, it's not that intermittent fasting will have you lose body fat, it might just help you do so more easily. The way IF helps you lose fat more easily is because of these 5 benefits:
