Update: New warrant for man tied to vicious attack that left woman with fractured skull
Beaumont police have obtained a new warrant accusing a man of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon/Serious Bodily Injury in a brutal attack that left a woman in critical condition with a fractured skull and other injuries.
Officers are looking for Marcus Austin, 39, in connection with the vicious crime. He's 5'9" and weighs 220 pounds.
Officers responded to 2860 Averill at about 5:40 p.m. Monday after someone called to report an assault. Police were flagged down by the victim's juvenile daughter.
She led officers to the the semi-conscious 33-year-old female victim. She had a fractured skull and was taken by ambulance to a hospital as a trauma alert patient.
Austin has Beaumont city warrants and a warrant for a parole violation out of Baton Rouge for Felon in Possession of a Weapon.
He was last seen possibly wearing a black muscle shirt and black shorts, headed south on foot from 2860 Averill.
