Bambi (70 min)
Synopsis: Deep in the forest, the new prince, Bambi, is born. Through the changing of the seasons – the drip drip drop of a “Little April Shower,” the colors of summer and autumn, and the snows of winter, the young fawn delights in exploring the wonders of the woodlands. Along the way he meets Friend Owl, Thumper the rabbit, Flower the skunk and the lovely fawn, Faline. But when man enters the forest, Bambi’s idyllic world is shattered and he must go with his father, the Great Prince of the Forest. The following spring, Bambi is now a young buck, and wins the right to become Faline’s mate in a dramatic duel with another buck. They begin their life together, but when man enters the forest again, Bambi must fight to protect his world from the growing danger man brings. As the seasons pass, Bambi takes his place as the new Great Prince of the Forest and discovers that “Love is a Song that Never Ends.”

Trivia:
• Frames: 100,800
• Based on the book by Felix Salten.
• In striving for realism, the artists heard lectures from animal experts, made field trips to the Los Angeles Zoo, watched specially filmed nature footage shot in the forests of Maine, and even studied the movements of two fawns that were donated to the Studio.
• The fawns (baby deer), donated to the Disney Studio for the animators to study, soon became too tame. Walt then sent two cameramen to Maine to provide footage of deer in the wild.
• The film received Academy Award nominations for Best Sound, Best Song (“Love Is a Song”), and Best Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture.
